Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Government Building Janitor to join our team in South Bend, Indiana. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal in offices, hallways, and common areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring all fixtures are sparkling and supplies are restocked.
- Maintain cleanliness of breakrooms and kitchenettes, including sinks, countertops, and appliances.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners.
- Monitor and report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs to supervision.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stored safely and adequately stocked, requesting refills as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Adhere to all company policies and government building regulations regarding security and conduct.
Required Skills
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial services is a plus, but not required.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe application.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
