Job Description

Bass Strait Physiotherapy & Wellness Centre is excited to offer a unique Allied Health Intern position designed for aspiring physiotherapy professionals. This internship provides invaluable practical experience in a dynamic clinical setting, allowing you to observe, learn, and contribute under the guidance of experienced physiotherapists. No prior clinical experience is required; we are looking for enthusiastic individuals eager to learn and grow in the field of allied health. You will gain hands-on exposure to various patient conditions, treatment modalities, and clinic operations, setting a strong foundation for your future career.
Key Responsibilities
- Observe and assist licensed physiotherapists during patient assessments and treatment sessions.
- Learn about various therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and rehabilitation protocols.
- Support clinic operations, including preparing treatment areas and organizing equipment.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records under supervision.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Assist with patient education on exercises and injury prevention strategies.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited Allied Health program (e.g., Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Empathy, compassion, and a genuine interest in patient care.
- Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
- Commitment to professional development and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous volunteer or observation experience in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with clinical software systems.
- Valid driver's license.
