Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Barback / Glass Collector to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced, high-energy nightlife environment in San Diego. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality sector and thrive in a bustling atmosphere. You will be instrumental in supporting our bartenders, ensuring smooth operations, and contributing to an unforgettable guest experience. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic and a passion for service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist bartenders with stocking and restocking bar inventory, including liquor, beer, wine, and mixers.
  • Ensure a continuous supply of clean glassware by collecting, washing, and polishing glasses efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, sweeping floors, and managing trash disposal.
  • Prepare garnishes, juices, and other bar essentials as needed.
  • Replace kegs and restock ice bins regularly.
  • Support the bar team during peak hours, anticipating needs and proactively addressing potential issues.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Provide friendly and prompt service to guests, assisting with minor requests when possible.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Proactive and attentive to detail.
  • Positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and contribute.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role.
  • Familiarity with bar operations or nightlife venues.
  • Knowledge of basic beverage types.
