Job Description
Join LabCorp as a Medical Sample Courier, a vital role in ensuring the timely and safe transport of critical medical samples. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for picking up and delivering specimens from various healthcare facilities to our laboratory, utilizing a company-provided vehicle. We are seeking a reliable individual with a strong commitment to punctuality, safety, and excellent customer service. A clean driving record is essential for this role. Full training on specimen handling and transport protocols will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport medical specimens, supplies, and reports between client sites and the laboratory using a company-provided vehicle.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company driving policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintain specimen integrity during transport by following established handling and temperature control procedures.
- Complete daily routes and schedules with precision and punctuality.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all pickups and deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and laboratory staff regarding any delays or issues.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintain the cleanliness of the company vehicle.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service to all clients.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (MVR will be reviewed).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent time management and route planning abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of mobile device operation for navigation and communication.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a courier, delivery, or logistics role.
- Familiarity with medical terminology or specimen handling procedures.
