Job Description
The Arizona Department of Gaming and Liquor Control is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Gaming & Liquor Inspector to join our State Compliance team in Tucson, Arizona. This vital role involves conducting comprehensive inspections of licensed gaming establishments and liquor retailers to ensure strict adherence to all state laws, regulations, and departmental policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying violations, documenting findings, and initiating appropriate enforcement actions. This position requires strong investigative skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of Arizona’s gaming and liquor industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and unannounced inspections of licensed gaming and liquor establishments to ensure compliance with state statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Investigate alleged violations, complaints, and suspicious activities, gathering evidence and preparing detailed reports.
- Review financial records, operational procedures, and licensing documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Issue citations, stop orders, or other enforcement actions as necessary, following established protocols.
- Provide expert testimony in administrative hearings or court proceedings regarding inspection findings.
- Educate licensees on compliance requirements and best practices to foster voluntary adherence.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and other state departments on joint investigations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions using departmental systems.
- Stay current with changes in gaming and liquor laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Required Skills
