Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Train Signal Technician Intern to join our infrastructure team in Bundaberg. This entry-level internship is designed for individuals eager to kickstart a career in rail infrastructure. You will receive comprehensive, hands-on training from experienced professionals, learning the fundamentals of train signaling systems, their maintenance, and their crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient rail operations. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience, develop technical skills, and understand the intricacies of a vital industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of train signaling equipment, including points, track circuits, and level crossing systems.
- Learn to identify common faults and assist in troubleshooting signaling system issues under direct supervision.
- Follow strict safety protocols and operational guidelines to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
- Document observations, maintenance activities, and completed tasks accurately.
- Participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning experiences to develop technical proficiency and industry knowledge.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and assist with inventory management.
