Job Description
Are you passionate about preserving history and working outdoors? Mitie is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our heritage maintenance team as a Statue & Monument Power Washer. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the meticulous cleaning and restoration of historical statues, monuments, and public art installations across Kingston upon Hull and the surrounding area. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the beautification and longevity of our cultural heritage. Full training will be provided to ensure you master the specialized techniques required for delicate heritage work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-pressure and low-pressure cleaning of statues, monuments, and other outdoor heritage assets.
- Carefully assess materials and surfaces to determine appropriate cleaning methods and solutions.
- Operate and maintain specialized power washing equipment, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Prepare work sites, including setting up safety barriers and ensuring public safety.
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard.
- Conduct routine inspections of heritage sites for maintenance needs.
- Adhere to environmental regulations and best practices for heritage preservation.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Required Skills

- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and carry equipment.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with historical structures or heritage preservation principles.
- Certification in relevant health and safety (e.g., Working at Height, COSHH).
- A passion for local history and heritage.
