Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Warehouse Spill Response Cleaner to join our Cranston team. This entry-level position is crucial for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. You will be responsible for immediate response to spills, general janitorial duties, and ensuring all common areas are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness. Full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped to handle all aspects of the role safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Promptly respond to and clean up various spills (liquid, solid, non-hazardous) using appropriate methods and equipment.
- Perform general janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, and emptying trash receptacles.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and other common areas within the warehouse.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners.
- Properly handle and dispose of waste and recyclable materials in accordance with company guidelines.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain an organized inventory of cleaning supplies and report needs to supervision.
- Conduct routine checks to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety principles.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a cleaning, janitorial, or warehouse environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with various cleaning chemicals and equipment.
