Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our team as Sustainable Forestry Labourers for seasonal tree planting work in the Houston area. This is an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy working outdoors and are passionate about environmental conservation and sustainable resource management. As a vital part of our forestry operations, you will be primarily involved in manual tree planting, ensuring the reforestation of harvested areas and the health of our future forests. Training will be provided, making this a great entry point for individuals eager to learn about sustainable forestry practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual tree planting using specialized tools and techniques to ensure proper spacing and survival rates.
- Prepare planting sites, which may include clearing debris and minor site preparation.
- Monitor planted seedlings for initial health and report any issues to supervisors.
- Participate in general forestry labor tasks as needed, such as trail maintenance, debris removal, and invasive species control.
- Operate basic forestry equipment safely and efficiently after receiving appropriate training.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations in a rugged outdoor environment.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily planting targets and project goals.
- Travel to various planting sites within the Houston region, often requiring early starts.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in a forest environment, including uneven terrain.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures or willingness to learn and adhere to them.
Preferred Qualifications

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to meeting points.
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of local tree species and reforestation techniques.
