Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Secondary Science Teacher specializing in Physics and Chemistry to join our vibrant team at Corner Brook Regional High. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for Physics and Chemistry courses at the secondary level.
  • Instruct students in scientific principles, theories, and laboratory techniques.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and extracurricular science activities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding student performance and development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
  • Supervise students in various school settings, ensuring adherence to school policies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, or related field) and/or Education.
  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching Physics and Chemistry at the secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management and instructional design skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Education or a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Previous experience teaching in a Canadian provincial curriculum.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and technology integration in the classroom.
  • Participation in extracurricular activities or club leadership.
