Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Secondary Science Teacher specializing in Physics and Chemistry to join our vibrant team at Corner Brook Regional High. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for Physics and Chemistry courses at the secondary level.
- Instruct students in scientific principles, theories, and laboratory techniques.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and extracurricular science activities.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding student performance and development.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
- Supervise students in various school settings, ensuring adherence to school policies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, or related field) and/or Education.
- Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching Physics and Chemistry at the secondary level.
- Strong classroom management and instructional design skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Education or a relevant scientific discipline.
- Previous experience teaching in a Canadian provincial curriculum.
- Experience with differentiated instruction and technology integration in the classroom.
- Participation in extracurricular activities or club leadership.
