Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and academically focused Student Research Intern to join our team in Rockingham, Western Australia. This internship offers a unique opportunity for current university students to gain practical research experience, contribute to ongoing academic projects, and develop essential scientific skills within a world-class research environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior researchers, assisting with various stages of academic inquiry, from literature review to data analysis and report preparation. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about science, eager to learn, and looking to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world research setting. No prior professional experience is required; comprehensive training and mentorship will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior researchers with literature reviews and background research for academic projects.
- Support data collection efforts, including surveys, experiments, or field observations.
- Perform data entry, cleaning, and preliminary analysis using specified software tools.
- Contribute to the drafting of research reports, presentations, and academic papers.
- Maintain accurate records of research activities and experimental results.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project discussions.
- Learn and apply appropriate research methodologies and ethical guidelines.
- Present findings and progress updates to the research team as required.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated strong academic performance and a keen interest in research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Enrolment in a program related to environmental science, marine biology, engineering, or computational science.
