Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Logistics Yard Gate Opener to join our busy operations in Stratford, London. This is an essential entry-level role responsible for the safe and efficient management of yard access for vehicles entering and exiting our logistics facility. You will be operating manual barriers, logging vehicle movements, and ensuring the security and flow of traffic within the yard. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in logistics with no prior experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually operate yard entry and exit barriers for all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
- Accurately log vehicle registration details, arrival/departure times, and driver information using provided systems.
- Direct drivers to appropriate loading/unloading bays or parking areas within the yard.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor yard activity and report any suspicious behaviour or safety hazards immediately.
- Ensure adherence to all site safety and security protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organised gatehouse and surrounding area.
- Assist with other yard duties as required to support logistics operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
- Strong attention to detail for logging information.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry.
- Capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions.
