Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and physically fit Mustering Offsiders to join our team for casual day shifts across our Central Queensland properties, based out of Rockhampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals eager to experience the Australian outback and contribute to essential cattle management operations. You will work alongside experienced stockmen and women, learning valuable skills in a dynamic and challenging environment. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent entry-level role for those with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the safe and efficient movement and handling of cattle during mustering operations.
  • Support the stock camp team as directed by station managers and head stockmen.
  • Perform general station duties, including fencing, yard work, and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain high standards of safety for yourself and others in all activities.
  • Learn and apply best practices in animal husbandry and stock handling.
  • Operate vehicles, horses, or bikes as required, following training and safety protocols.
  • Contribute positively to team morale and the station community.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and ability to work long hours in varied weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and a proactive, 'can-do' attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Basic understanding of rural safety practices (or willingness to learn immediately).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Australian Driver's License (manual transmission preferred).
  • Experience with horses or motorbikes (quads/two-wheelers).
  • Basic first aid certification.
  • Previous experience in a rural or outdoor work environment.
  • Experience working with livestock.
