Job Description

Join Australia Post as a Seasonal Postie Assistant during our busiest periods! This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for temporary work and to contribute to essential community services. As a Postie Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring mail and parcels reach our customers efficiently. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for those seeking entry-level positions or looking to gain valuable experience in logistics and delivery. You will work alongside experienced Posties, helping to sort, prepare, and deliver items within your local area. This role requires reliability, a can-do attitude, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Posties with sorting mail and parcels for delivery routes.
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles with mail and parcels.
  • Undertake walking or driving delivery rounds as required, assisting the primary Postie.
  • Safely and efficiently deliver mail and parcels to residential and business addresses.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and operational procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with the public.

Required Skills

  • Valid Australian driver's license (car or motorcycle, depending on role requirements).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding outdoor environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to undertake training and learn new processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a delivery or customer service role is an advantage but not essential.
  • Knowledge of the local Mount Gambier area.
