Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate Registered General Nurses (RGNs) to join our dedicated teams across various specialties within the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate person-centred nursing care for patients with diverse health needs.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to Trust policies and NMC guidelines.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, interpret results, and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical professionals, therapists, and other healthcare team members.
  • Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients and their families, offering support and education.
  • Participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, and contribute to care planning.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and maintain a safe clinical environment.
  • Act as a role model, mentor, and supervise junior staff and student nurses as appropriate.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations and provide immediate life support where necessary.

Required Skills

  • Valid NMC registration (or eligibility to register upon successful completion of OSCE/CBT for overseas applicants).
  • Evidence of post-registration nursing experience (desirable but not essential for newly qualified nurses with strong clinical placement experience).
  • Excellent clinical skills and a solid understanding of nursing principles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
  • Basic IT proficiency for electronic patient record keeping.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specific experience in acute care, elderly care, surgical, or medical wards.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to our diverse patient population.
