Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Data Science Intern to join our dynamic team for a Machine Learning & Python Placement. This is an incredible opportunity for a university student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a real-world industrial setting. You will work alongside experienced data scientists and engineers, contributing to projects that leverage data to improve operational efficiency, predictive maintenance, and product development across various industrial applications. This placement is designed to provide comprehensive training and mentorship, allowing you to apply your theoretical knowledge to practical challenges and develop your skills in machine learning, data analysis, and Python programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets from various sources.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of machine learning models using Python.
- Support data scientists in exploring and visualizing data to identify trends and insights.
- Document data processes, models, and analytical findings clearly and concisely.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
- Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Continuously learn and stay updated with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.
- Basic proficiency in Python programming, including familiarity with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with SQL or other database querying languages.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Previous experience with version control systems like Git.
