Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Urban Planning Support professional to join our Council Development team in Bowen. This role is crucial in assisting our planning officers and development assessors with various administrative and technical tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of planning applications and inquiries. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, providing information to the public, and supporting the strategic planning initiatives that shape the future of our region. Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and technical support to Urban Planners and Development Assessors.
- Assist with the processing and tracking of development applications, including data entry and file management.
- Respond to public inquiries regarding planning schemes, zoning regulations, and development processes.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations as required.
- Maintain and update planning databases and geographic information systems (GIS) records.
- Coordinate meetings and site visits for the planning team.
- Assist in the research and preparation of planning policy documents and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and council policies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
