Job Description
We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as Pigery Labourers in Tully, Queensland. This is an ongoing, full-time position with full training provided, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to start a career in agriculture, regardless of prior experience. You will play a crucial role in the daily care and management of our livestock, ensuring their well-being and contributing to the efficient operation of our farm.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the daily feeding and watering of pigs across various stages of growth.
- Cleaning and maintaining pens, facilities, and equipment to high hygiene standards.
- Monitoring the health and welfare of animals and reporting any concerns to management.
- Moving pigs between pens and facilities safely and humanely.
- Performing general farm maintenance tasks as required.
- Assisting with breeding and farrowing processes.
- Operating basic farm machinery and tools after training.
Required Skills
- No prior experience in piggery or farming required; full training will be provided.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to animal welfare and ethical handling practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- A current driver's license and reliable transport to our farm location.
- Experience in a rural or agricultural setting (highly regarded but not essential).
- Basic understanding of animal husbandry (beneficial but not required).
