Job Description
Are you a passionate and detail-oriented individual looking to kickstart your career in software quality assurance? Mindbody is offering a paid internship opportunity for an IT Intern with a focus on Software Testing & QA. This is a unique chance to gain hands-on experience, learn from industry experts, and contribute to the quality of products used by millions worldwide. Based at our vibrant San Luis Obispo campus, you will work closely with our experienced Quality Assurance team. This on-site internship is designed to provide you with a foundational understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices within a real-world development environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist QA engineers in executing test plans and test cases across various software applications.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using our bug tracking systems.
- Learn and apply different testing techniques, including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on product quality and user experience.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to ensure a thorough understanding of features and requirements.
- Help maintain and update test documentation, including test cases and defect reports.
- Gain exposure to automated testing frameworks and learn basic scripting.
Required Skills
- A strong desire to learn about software testing and quality assurance
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with common office software
- Eagerness to ask questions, learn new technologies, and grow professionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Any exposure to programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) or testing tools is a plus, but not required
