Job Description

ActionAid UK is offering an exciting opportunity for a Social Impact Measurement & Evaluation Intern to join our team in Hendon. This entry-level internship is designed for individuals with a strong interest in international development, research, and data analysis, providing hands-on experience in the vital field of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) within a leading non-governmental organization. You will work closely with our M&E specialists, contributing to projects that track progress, assess effectiveness, and report on the outcomes of our initiatives globally. Full training and mentorship will be provided, making this an ideal role for someone looking to start their career in social impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection, organization, and basic analysis of data from various programs and projects.
  • Support the development and refinement of M&E tools and methodologies.
  • Contribute to the preparation of M&E reports, presentations, and learning documents.
  • Help maintain M&E databases and information systems.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic discussions on program effectiveness.
  • Conduct literature reviews and desk research on best practices in social impact measurement.
  • Support communication efforts by preparing summaries of M&E findings for diverse audiences.
  • Learn about ethical considerations and safeguarding practices in data collection and reporting.

Required Skills

  • Strong interest in international development, social justice, and humanitarian work.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn new concepts and apply them in a practical setting.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in international development, social sciences, statistics, public policy, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of research methodologies or data analysis principles.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools or statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, Stata) is a plus, but not required.
