Job Description
Are you a talented musician with a passion for sales and customer service? Foulds Guitars & Music is seeking an enthusiastic Musical Instrument Sales Advisor to join our dynamic team in Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who not only has a deep understanding of guitars and keyboards but also loves engaging with customers and helping them find their perfect instrument. You’ll be at the heart of our store, providing expert advice, demonstrating products, and contributing to a thriving sales environment. This role includes a commission structure, rewarding your sales success.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers on the sales floor, providing expert advice and product demonstrations, particularly for guitars and keyboards.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate musical instruments and accessories.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting retail environment.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves and preparing new products for display.
- Support promotional activities and events to drive sales.
- Stay up-to-date with new products, trends, and technologies in the musical instrument industry.
- Build lasting relationships with customers, encouraging repeat business and loyalty.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally.
Required Skills
- Proficient ability to play guitar and/or keyboards.
- Demonstrable passion and knowledge of musical instruments, especially guitars and keyboards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Aptitude for sales and a desire to achieve targets.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented retail environment.
- Basic computer literacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience, ideally within a musical instrument or related industry.
- Knowledge of other musical instruments (e.g., drums, brass, woodwind, recording equipment).
- Experience with a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- A music-related qualification or professional experience.
