Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and motivated Factory Workers to join our Biodegradable Plastics manufacturing facility in Edmonton, Alberta. This role involves operating production machinery, monitoring processes, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of our biodegradable plastic product lines. Successful candidates will be crucial in our mission to produce high-quality, sustainable materials that meet environmental standards. This is a hands-on position requiring adherence to strict safety protocols and a commitment to teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role operates on rotating shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production equipment for manufacturing biodegradable plastic products.
- Perform quality checks on products to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products using appropriate tools and machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues to supervisors.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets and operational goals.
- Complete production logs and documentation accurately.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for operating machinery.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility for rotating shifts.
- Comfortable working in a diverse industrial setting with varying temperatures and noise levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, factory, or industrial setting.
- Experience with production machinery or material handling equipment (e.g., forklift operation, pallet jack).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting.
