Job Description
We are seeking a talented and imaginative WFH Creative Writer to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the worlds and characters within our upcoming gaming titles and interactive applications. You will be responsible for developing rich narratives, engaging dialogue, and intricate lore that captivates players and users. If you have a passion for storytelling, a deep understanding of gaming genres, and the discipline to thrive in a remote environment, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop compelling storylines, plots, and character backstories for new and existing games and apps.
- Write engaging and impactful dialogue that fits character personalities and narrative tones.
- Create detailed lore documents, world-building guides, and story bibles.
- Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and developers to integrate narrative elements seamlessly into gameplay and user experience.
- Iterate on scripts and narrative concepts based on feedback and playtesting.
- Ensure consistency in tone, voice, and style across all narrative content.
- Brainstorm and contribute innovative ideas for new projects and intellectual properties.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a creative writer, ideally with a focus on interactive media, gaming, or app development.
- Exceptional storytelling ability with a strong grasp of narrative structure, character development, and pacing.
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to create compelling dialogue that advances plot and defines characters.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and disciplined, with the ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a remote work setting.
- A portfolio demonstrating creative writing samples, preferably including scriptwriting or interactive narrative examples.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, English, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience with various gaming genres and a keen understanding of player motivations and engagement.
- Familiarity with scriptwriting software (e.g., Celtx, Final Draft).
