Job Description

You will be an integral part of our field team, responsible for collecting soil samples, conducting on-site tests, and assisting with data recording. Key Responsibilities
- Travel to various regional sites to collect soil samples according to established protocols.
- Conduct basic on-site soil tests, including compaction, density, and moisture content analysis, using specialized equipment.
- Accurately record and document all test results and observations.
- Assist with the maintenance and calibration of field testing equipment.
- Transport samples safely back to the laboratory for further analysis.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and environmental regulations during fieldwork.
- Communicate effectively with senior technicians, project managers, and clients on site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and equipment.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
Required Skills
- Valid Australian Driver's License (manual highly preferred) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel extensively and stay overnight in various regional locations as required.
- Strong basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 20kg) and perform manual tasks in outdoor environments.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Commitment to safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of Year 10 or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge or interest in science, environmental studies, or agriculture.
- Previous experience in a role requiring travel or fieldwork (even if not directly related to soil testing).
- First Aid Certificate.
