Job Description

United Way Elgin Middlesex is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Grant Writing & Fundraising Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in grant research, proposal development, and various fundraising activities within a leading non-profit organization. You will work closely with our experienced fundraising and communications professionals, learning the essential skills needed to secure vital funding for critical community programs. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in researching potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Support the drafting and editing of grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and other fundraising communications.
- Help maintain and update donor databases and tracking systems.
- Contribute to the development of fundraising campaigns and events.
- Prepare reports and presentations on fundraising activities and outcomes.
- Attend team meetings and relevant workshops to enhance learning and professional development.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the fundraising team.
Required Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent research and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
