Job Description
We are actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our dynamic team in Daytona Beach, FL. This vital role involves assisting physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and operating specialized equipment. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in our cardiac catheterization lab, contributing to the accurate diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiovascular procedures, including explaining procedures, positioning, and ensuring comfort.
- Operate and monitor specialized cardiovascular equipment during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Assist cardiologists and other medical staff during cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, stent placements, and other related procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the physician.
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure adherence to infection control protocols.
- Document patient information, procedure details, and outcomes accurately.
- Prepare and maintain equipment, ensuring proper functionality and calibration.
- Provide post-procedure care instructions and assist with patient recovery.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in cardiovascular technology.
Required Skills
- Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field
- Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or eligible to obtain within 12 months of hire
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency in operating cardiovascular imaging and monitoring equipment
- Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related health science field
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Previous experience in a cardiac catheterization lab
- Experience with various interventional cardiology procedures
- Fluency in multiple languages (beneficial for diverse patient population)
