Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Art Law & Provenance Research Intern to join our dedicated team. This entry-level internship provides an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of art history, legal research, and ethical stewardship within a leading gallery environment. The intern will support our provenance research efforts, assist with legal compliance, and contribute to the ethical acquisition and display of artworks. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth provenance research on artworks and objects in the gallery's collection using historical documents, databases, and archival materials.
- Assist in compiling research reports and documentation related to ownership history, exhibition records, and legal status.
- Support the legal team in reviewing contracts, agreements, and policies relevant to art acquisition, loans, and exhibitions.
- Monitor developments in national and international art law, including issues related to cultural property, restitution, and intellectual property rights.
- Organize and maintain research files and digital archives, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Contribute to educational initiatives and internal workshops related to provenance and art law.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience volunteering or working in a museum, gallery, or library setting (not mandatory, but a plus).
