Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and caring Special Needs Transport Assistants to join our growing team. This vital role involves supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities during their journeys to and from school or other educational settings. The position operates on a ‘split shift’ basis, typically morning and afternoon routes, making it an ideal opportunity for parents or individuals seeking flexible work arrangements around family commitments. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, so prior experience in special needs transport is not essential; we value empathy, reliability, and a genuine desire to help.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely assist passengers, including those with mobility challenges, on and off vehicles.
  • Ensure the comfort, well-being, and safety of all passengers during transit.
  • Communicate effectively with passengers, parents/guardians, and school staff.
  • Follow all safeguarding procedures and company policies.
  • Assist drivers with route navigation and timekeeping as needed.
  • Report any incidents, concerns, or changes in passenger needs promptly to management.
  • Maintain a calm and supportive environment for all passengers.
