Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machinery Maintenance Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Swansea. This critical role involves overseeing the maintenance and repair of complex industrial machinery, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and safety across our production facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
- Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues in heavy industrial machinery and implement effective solutions.
- Oversee emergency repairs and ensure quick resolution of breakdowns to maintain production targets.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes to ensure availability of critical components.
- Implement and enforce all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize machinery performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and team productivity.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in industrial machinery maintenance, preferably in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Solid understanding of electrical control systems and PLCs.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards pertinent to industrial operations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Maintenance Engineering.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Prior experience in the steel industry or similar heavy industrial sectors.
