Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Disability Support Lead to join our dedicated team within the public sector, with a strong focus on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This pivotal role involves leading a team of support coordinators, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, participant-centred services, and advocating for the best outcomes for individuals with disabilities. You will play a crucial role in navigating the complexities of the NDIS framework, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement in our service delivery. This is an on-site position based in Gosford, requiring a proactive and empathetic leader committed to making a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Disability Support Coordinators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and review of NDIS participant plans, ensuring alignment with individual goals and NDIS guidelines.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on NDIS policies, procedures, and best practices to both staff and participants.
  • Manage complex participant cases, resolve issues, and ensure effective service coordination.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, service providers, and advocacy groups.
  • Monitor service quality, compliance with NDIS standards, and internal policies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery models and operational processes.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate records in accordance with organizational and NDIS requirements.
  • Facilitate training and professional development opportunities for the support team.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in disability services, with significant experience in an NDIS-focused role.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Act, rules, and operational guidelines.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using client management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain.
  • Valid Australian Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Disability Services, Social Work, Allied Health, Community Services, or a related field.
  • Experience in the public sector or working with government frameworks.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and support networks in the Central Coast region.
  • Advanced conflict resolution and mediation skills.
