Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Quarry Labourer to join our heavy industrial operations in Gosford, NSW. This full-time position offers a high hourly rate and provides an excellent opportunity to work within a leading construction materials company. The successful candidate will assist with various tasks to ensure the efficient and safe operation of our quarry site, adhering to all safety protocols and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist plant and machinery operators with general quarry operations.
- Perform site clean-up, including shovelling, sweeping, and waste removal.
- Conduct basic checks and minor maintenance on equipment as directed.
- Handle and sort materials (e.g., aggregates, sand) as required.
- Actively participate in safety briefings and strictly adhere to all site safety procedures and policies.
- Support team members to ensure smooth operational flow and productivity.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
Required Skills
- Proven physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour tasks in an outdoor, heavy industrial environment.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to safety and an understanding of workplace health and safety protocols.
- Basic communication skills.
- At least 6 months of prior experience in an industrial, construction, or similar physical labour environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Construction Induction Card (White Card) is highly regarded.
- Experience operating basic machinery (e.g., skid steer, forklift) with relevant tickets.
- Current First Aid certificate.
- Knowledge of quarrying operations.
