Job Description

Next PLC is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our dynamic buying team as a Fashion Buying Intern. This role is perfect for someone passionate about fashion and retail, eager to learn the intricacies of inventory management, product placement, and the entire buying cycle. You will gain hands-on experience supporting our buyers and merchandisers in bringing the latest trends to our customers across the UK. This internship provides an invaluable insight into the fast-paced world of fashion retail and offers a foundational understanding of how products move from concept to store shelves and online platforms. Full training will be provided to ensure your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist buyers with market research and trend analysis to identify new product opportunities.
  • Support in managing inventory levels and retail inventory placement strategies for various product categories.
  • Help prepare and analyze sales reports, identifying best-selling items and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and supply chain teams to ensure timely product delivery and optimal stock allocation.
  • Maintain accurate product information and documentation within internal systems.
  • Participate in supplier meetings and product development discussions.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify pricing strategies and new market trends.
  • Support general administrative tasks for the buying department.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Retail Management, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with retail inventory management concepts.
