We are seeking a dedicated Hotel Guest Service Agent to join our professional and dynamic team.
Job Description
As a Hotel Guest Service Agent, you will be the face of Quest Whyalla, providing a warm welcome and efficient service to all our guests. This role requires a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle a variety of guest inquiries and requests with a positive attitude. You will manage front desk operations, reservations, check-ins, and check-outs, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable stay for every guest. This is a shift-work position, requiring flexibility across mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and assist with check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
- Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications accurately.
- Answer incoming calls and emails, providing information and resolving queries.
- Process payments and maintain accurate guest accounts.
- Provide local recommendations and assist guests with their needs to enhance their stay.
- Handle guest complaints and feedback professionally, seeking resolutions promptly.
- Maintain a tidy and organised front desk area.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months experience in a customer service role, preferably within hospitality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using hotel management systems (PMS) or similar booking software.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for guest service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Hospitality or a related field.
- Previous experience with the Opera PMS system.
- Knowledge of the local Whyalla area and attractions.
- Current First Aid certification.
