Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Remote Building Permit Processor to join our Local Government team. This is a 100% remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for processing a variety of building permit applications, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and providing excellent customer service to applicants. You will work closely with other departments, architects, builders, and the public to facilitate a smooth and efficient permit process from submission to approval.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and process building permit applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Verify submitted documents against local zoning ordinances, building codes, and other relevant regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with applicants to request additional information or clarify submissions.
  • Coordinate with planning, building control, and other internal departments to facilitate reviews and approvals.
  • Maintain accurate records of all applications, communications, and decisions within our digital systems.
  • Provide professional and helpful assistance to the public regarding permit requirements and procedures.
  • Prepare and issue permits, ensuring all conditions are met prior to issuance.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of permit processing workflows and documentation.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in an administrative or data processing role.
