Job Description
Join our dynamic Farm Fencing Crew and play a crucial role in building and maintaining essential infrastructure for farms and ranches across the Portland, OR region. This is a hands-on, outdoor position that requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety. You will be responsible for various aspects of fence construction, repair, and maintenance, working in diverse rural environments. Full training will be provided to ensure all crew members are proficient in our safety protocols and construction techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Install various types of agricultural fencing, including wire, wood, and panel fencing.
- Dig post holes, set posts, and stretch wire according to specifications.
- Operate hand tools and power equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials and equipment to various job sites.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing fencing.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects on schedule.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques.
- Basic understanding of measurements and angles.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
