Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and self-motivated City Graffiti Removal Technician to join our Public Works team. This is an independent role where you will be provided with a fully equipped vehicle to patrol designated areas and respond to service requests for graffiti removal. You will be responsible for restoring public and private properties, ensuring our city remains pristine and attractive. Full training on removal techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a company-provided vehicle and specialized graffiti removal equipment.
  • Independently patrol assigned areas to identify and assess graffiti incidents.
  • Safely and effectively remove graffiti from various surfaces (e.g., walls, signs, utility boxes, bridges) using appropriate techniques and materials.
  • Mix and apply various cleaning solutions and paints according to safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
  • Document completed work, including location, type of graffiti, and materials used.
  • Report significant findings or larger incidents requiring additional resources.
  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored properly.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with the public.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in property maintenance, painting, or general labour.
  • Knowledge of local bylaws regarding graffiti.
  • WHMIS certification or willingness to obtain.
