Job Description
Join our dynamic Event Bumping Crew for short-term opportunities in Hobart! This role is perfect for individuals who are physically fit, reliable, and eager to contribute to the successful execution of various events, from conferences to concerts. As part of the crew, you will be responsible for the setup and pack-down of event infrastructure, including staging, audio-visual equipment, lighting, and décor. This is a physically demanding role that requires heavy lifting, teamwork, and adherence to strict safety protocols. No extensive prior experience is necessary; we value a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload event equipment, materials, and supplies safely and efficiently.
- Assist with the setup of stages, lighting rigs, audio systems, video screens, and other event infrastructure.
- Dismantle event setups post-event, carefully packing away all equipment.
- Follow instructions from event managers and team leaders accurately.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet project deadlines.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 25kg) comfortably and safely.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for extended periods of standing, walking, and manual labor.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety practices.
- Flexible availability for various event schedules, including weekends and evenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in event setup, warehousing, or general labor.
- Current driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Basic understanding of event production equipment.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain one.
