Job Description

We are seeking a enthusiastic and dedicated Curatorial & Exhibition Intern to join our team. This entry-level internship offers an invaluable opportunity for individuals passionate about fine arts, museum studies, and exhibition development to gain practical, hands-on experience within a dynamic museum environment. The intern will support various aspects of curatorial work and exhibition preparation, learning directly from experienced museum professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with research for upcoming exhibitions and collection management tasks.
  • Support the preparation of exhibition materials, including labels, didactic panels, and interpretive texts.
  • Help with the careful handling, condition reporting, and inventory of artworks and artifacts.
  • Aid in the installation and de-installation of exhibitions, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
  • Contribute to the organization and maintenance of curatorial files and digital archives.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for exhibition concepts and public programs.
  • Perform general administrative duties as required by the curatorial department.

Required Skills

  • Strong interest in fine arts, art history, museum studies, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and synthesize information effectively.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Art History, Museum Studies, Curatorial Practice, or a related discipline.
  • Prior volunteer experience in a museum, gallery, or cultural institution.
  • Familiarity with collection management software (e.g., TMS, PastPerfect) is a plus but not required.
