Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate Neonatal Intensive Care Nurses (NICU) to join our esteemed team in Nottingham. As a NICU Nurse, you will be instrumental in providing highly specialized care to premature and critically ill newborns, their families, and supporting their journey to recovery. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to neonates requiring intensive and high dependency care.
  • Monitor, assess, and document the physiological and psychological status of neonates, identifying changes and initiating appropriate interventions.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, including complex infusions and specialized treatments.
  • Operate and manage advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, incubators, and monitoring systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with neonatologists, doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Educate and support families, providing emotional reassurance and involving them in the care plan.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to Trust policies.
  • Participate in ward rounds, clinical discussions, and contribute to care planning.
  • Adhere to all NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) guidelines and professional standards of practice.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the NICU.

Required Skills

  • Registered Nurse qualification from country of origin.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-registration nursing experience, preferably within acute care settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize patient needs.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient and family care.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
  • Eligibility for NMC registration (support provided through sponsorship).
  • Proficiency in English (IELTS/OET requirements for NMC will be discussed).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) or Paediatric Critical Care.
  • Post-registration qualification in Neonatal Nursing or a related specialty.
  • Experience working in a multicultural healthcare environment.
  • Advanced Life Support certifications relevant to paediatrics/neonates.
