Job Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and self-motivated Remote Proofreader & Editor to join our dynamic content team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail to contribute to high-quality content from the comfort of their home. You will be responsible for meticulously reviewing various types of written materials, including manuscripts, marketing copy, and digital content, to ensure accuracy, grammatical correctness, and adherence to style guidelines. While prior extensive experience is not required, a strong grasp of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation is essential. Full training on our specific style guides and workflows will be provided to ensure your success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proofread and edit a variety of written materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency.
  • Ensure all content adheres to company style guides and editorial standards.
  • Identify and correct factual errors, inconsistencies, and formatting issues.
  • Provide constructive feedback and suggest improvements to enhance clarity and readability.
  • Manage multiple proofreading projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate effectively with content creators and other team members.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional command of the English language (grammar, spelling, punctuation).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors quickly.
  • Excellent reading comprehension and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with common word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with various style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, AP Style).
  • Experience with track changes and comment functions in editing software.
  • Background in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field (academic or self-taught).
