Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Art & Design Teacher to join our creative faculty. This role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, inspiring students to explore their artistic potential and develop a passion for the subject. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated Art & Design lessons to students across various key stages.
- Assess, monitor, record, and report on the progress and development of students.
- Maintain a safe, stimulating, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Art & Design curriculum.
- Participate in extracurricular activities related to the arts, such as clubs, exhibitions, and trips.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
- Commit to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Uphold the school's policies and procedures, including those relating to safeguarding and student welfare.
Required Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
- Bachelor's degree in Art, Design, Fine Art, or a related creative field.
- Demonstrable excellent subject knowledge across a range of art forms, techniques, and historical contexts.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students of all abilities and backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Art Education or a related discipline.
- Experience teaching Art & Design in a UK secondary school setting.
- Specialization in a particular artistic discipline (e.g., ceramics, photography, digital art, textiles).
- Experience with GCSE and/or A-Level Art & Design curriculum delivery.
