Key Responsibilities
- Participate in and successfully complete all phases of a comprehensive paid training program covering immigration law, enforcement tactics, and agency policies.
- Learn to identify, apprehend, and process individuals who are in violation of U.S. immigration laws.
- Under supervision, assist in conducting investigations, collecting evidence, and preparing reports related to immigration offenses.
- Develop skills in interviewing individuals and witnesses, and documenting findings accurately.
- Master the use of agency equipment, technology, and databases relevant to immigration enforcement.
- Adhere strictly to all federal laws, regulations, and agency policies, including ethical conduct and use of force guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow officers and other law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain physical fitness standards required for the role.
- Complete administrative tasks and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. Citizenship
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including a drug test and medical examination
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities
- Commitment to public service and law enforcement
- Physical ability to perform duties which may include standing for long periods, walking, and occasional strenuous activity
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or a related field
- Fluency in Spanish or another foreign language
- Prior experience in customer service or roles requiring interaction with the public
