Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled E-commerce Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team in Princeton, NJ. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our core e-commerce platform, ensuring its scalability, performance, and reliability. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable and high-performance microservices for our e-commerce platform.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features and functionalities.
- Optimize existing platform components for speed, efficiency, and robustness.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the platform.
- Contribute to the architectural design and evolution of our e-commerce ecosystem.
- Implement and maintain automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring solutions.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in a backend programming language such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Go.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Demonstrated experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development.
- Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
- Familiarity with modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience with specific e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, commercetools) or building custom e-commerce solutions.
- Familiarity with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and caching technologies (Redis, Memcached).
- Experience with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js) is a plus.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
