Job Description

Pacific Rim Customs Solutions is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Trainee Customs Revenue Collectors. This full-time position is perfect for someone with no prior experience in customs, as comprehensive training will be provided. You will learn the intricacies of customs regulations, tariff classifications, duty calculations, and the essential processes for managing goods entering and exiting Canada through various port and border locations. Key Responsibilities

  • Undergo comprehensive training on customs procedures, tariff codes, and import/export regulations.
  • Assist in the accurate calculation and collection of duties, taxes, and fees on imported goods.
  • Learn to review customs documentation for accuracy and compliance with Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) requirements.
  • Support senior collectors in the processing of customs declarations and related paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, port authorities, and government agencies as directed.
  • Maintain organized records and data entry for customs transactions.
  • Adhere to all company policies and government regulations.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to learn complex regulations and procedures quickly.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada and ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in business, logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience in an administrative or data entry role.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian border region (e.g., knowledge of local ports/crossings).
  • Fluency in a second language relevant to international trade (e.g., Mandarin, Punjabi).
