Job Description
Are you passionate about sports and live entertainment? The Memphis Grizzlies are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Ticketing & Box Office Management Intern to join our team. This entry-level internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic world of professional sports ticketing and event management. You will work closely with our Box Office and Ticket Operations team, learning the essential functions of ticket sales, customer service, and event day operations. No prior experience in ticketing is required; we are looking for eager learners who are ready to dive in and contribute. Full training will be provided to ensure your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily box office operations, including ticket sales, exchanges, and troubleshooting fan inquiries.
- Provide exceptional customer service to fans, assisting with ticket-related questions via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Support the setup and breakdown of box office windows for games and special events.
- Learn and utilize ticketing software systems (e.g., Ticketmaster Archtics) for processing transactions and generating reports.
- Aid in the reconciliation of daily ticket sales and inventory management.
- Assist with Will Call operations during events.
- Contribute to maintaining an organized and efficient box office environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Ticketing and Sales departments.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation and a positive attitude.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn new software and procedures quickly.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by game schedules and events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a customer service role is a plus.
- Demonstrated passion for sports and live entertainment.
