Job Description
Join the dedicated team at Leon’s Furniture in North Battleford as a Furniture Store Assembly Helper! This entry-level, full-time position is perfect for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and have a keen eye for detail. As an Assembly Helper, you will be instrumental in preparing our showroom with beautifully assembled furniture pieces and ensuring all items meet our quality standards. No prior assembly experience is required; we provide comprehensive training to ensure you have all the skills needed to succeed in this role. We’re looking for reliable, hardworking individuals eager to learn and contribute to a positive retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Uncrate and inspect new furniture arrivals for damage or defects.
- Accurately assemble various types of furniture for display and customer orders following manufacturer instructions.
- Assist with the movement and careful placement of assembled furniture within the showroom and warehouse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including proper disposal of all packaging materials.
- Perform minor repairs or adjustments to assembled items as needed to ensure quality.
- Assist with loading and unloading inventory from trucks as required.
- Ensure all safety protocols and guidelines are followed diligently during assembly and movement of furniture.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding and comfort with common hand and power tools (training will be provided).
- Ability to read and accurately follow assembly instructions and diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Physical ability to lift, push, and move heavy furniture (up to 50 lbs regularly) and stand for extended periods.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or general assembly environment is an asset but not required.
- A passion for furniture and home decor, with an interest in product presentation.
