Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and respectful relationship.
- Help clients with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Observe and report any changes in clients' health or well-being to a supervisor.
- Adhere to care plans and safety protocols to ensure the highest standard of care.
- Participate actively in all required training and professional development sessions.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
- Ability to perform duties that require physical stamina, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid BC Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- First Aid and CPR certification (will provide training if not held).
- Previous volunteer experience in a care-giving or community support role.
