Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and respectful relationship.
  • Help clients with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
  • Support clients with mobility and transfers, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Observe and report any changes in clients' health or well-being to a supervisor.
  • Adhere to care plans and safety protocols to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Participate actively in all required training and professional development sessions.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Ability to perform duties that require physical stamina, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (will provide training if not held).
  • Previous volunteer experience in a care-giving or community support role.
