Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Loading Bay Operative to join our dynamic night shift team in Ithaca, NY. This is an immediate start position perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are ready to contribute to our logistics operations. As a Loading Bay Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods, maintaining a safe working environment, and supporting our distribution efforts. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Sort and organize incoming and outgoing goods according to established procedures.
- Verify product counts against manifests and report any discrepancies.
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other warehouse equipment as required (training provided).
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a secure working environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the loading bay and surrounding areas.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet operational goals.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively during night shift hours.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy items, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions reliably.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (not required, but a plus).
- Familiarity with basic warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
