Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Horologist / Master Watchmaker to join our esteemed team. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate professional to practice their craft with a focus on high-end timepieces, from vintage heirlooms to modern luxury brands. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of both mechanical and quartz movements, exceptional diagnostic abilities, and a meticulous eye for detail. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of watch repair and restoration, ensuring every timepiece leaves our workshop in impeccable condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics, routine maintenance, and complex repairs on a wide range of mechanical and quartz watches.
- Disassemble, clean, lubricate, assemble, and regulate watch movements to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct case and bracelet refinishing, crystal replacement, and water resistance testing.
- Order and manage parts inventory, ensuring authenticity and quality for all repairs.
- Provide expert consultation to clients regarding repair options, costs, and estimated completion times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workbench and repair environment.
- Adhere strictly to industry best practices, brand guidelines, and quality control standards.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the watch repair department, including mentorship if applicable.
- Stay current with advancements in watchmaking technology, tools, and repair techniques.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Horologist or Watchmaker.
- Demonstrated expertise in repairing and servicing a diverse range of luxury watch brands and complications (e.g., chronographs, perpetual calendars).
- Proficiency with specialized watchmaking tools and equipment.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and acute attention to microscopic detail.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for complex watch issues.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
- Commitment to precision, accuracy, and superior craftsmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- WOSTEP, SAWTA, AWCI (Certified Watchmaker) or equivalent international certification.
- Experience with specific high-end brands (e.g., Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe, Cartier) and their proprietary service procedures.
- Familiarity with vintage watch restoration techniques.
- A formal education from a recognized horological institution.
