Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Entry-Level Hospital Porter to join our team at Providence St. Mary Medical Center. This full-time position is ideal for individuals looking to start a rewarding career in healthcare, with absolutely no prior experience required. We provide comprehensive, paid training to ensure you are fully equipped to excel in this vital role. As a Hospital Porter, you will play a crucial part in the smooth operation of our hospital, ensuring patients, equipment, and supplies are moved safely and efficiently throughout the facility. Your ability to work well within a team, communicate effectively, and maintain a positive attitude will be key to your success and our patients’ comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport patients safely and courteously between wards, departments, and examination rooms.
- Move medical equipment, beds, furniture, and supplies as required by various hospital departments.
- Deliver specimens, medical records, and mail to appropriate locations within the hospital.
- Assist with the tidiness and readiness of patient rooms and common areas.
- Respond promptly to requests from medical staff and other departments.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
- Maintain professional conduct and a helpful demeanor at all times.
- Operate and maintain transport equipment responsibly.
- Report any issues or concerns regarding equipment or patient transport to a supervisor.
